Phirak Suon is a designer based in Seattle, WA. He has a background in art, architecture, and digital fabrication. His work explores the intersection between materials through digital and traditional handicraft. After completing his BFA in ceramics at the University of Washington, he went on to earn his Masters in architecture from UC Berkeley. Upon graduating, Phirak worked as a technician and production specialist for Emerging Objects at UC Berkeley before relocating to his hometown of Seattle. For the past 2 years Phirak has co-taught classes at Pilchuck Glass School integrating traditional crafts with new digital fabrication processes. Phirak has collaborated with other artists and was recently a featured artists at the Tacoma Museum of Glass, guest artists at the University of Washington, and were demonstrating artists and lecturers at the Global Pathways for Craft Forum in Oaxaca, Mexico. He also work as an architect in the Seattle area designing high end residential.
